Wallpaper Dreaming

I'm a big fan of wallpaper. Since it's an expensive purchase I haven't been able to put any up in our house. However I am obsessed and will spend any amount on this new Brunschwig & Fils wallpaper. It strokes my Francophile side BIG TIME!

I'm picturing it up in my son's room which would then be transformed into the perfect little gentleman's space (PS- my dear son is no gentlemen, trust me I ate dinner with him tonight). My friend who's a designer is pricing it out for me. I'll keep you posted.

Many Moons

Clearly, I have a thing for moons, but I'm actually not that into wallpaper. It feels like such a huge commitment compared to just slapping a coat of paint on the wall. There's glue involved! And brushes to apply said glue! And you've got to line the panels up just so! And dear god, don't forget to smooth out the bubbles!! But if my wall treatment anxiety could be put aside for anything, I think this paper could do it. Created by the French company Bartsch and available from Hygge Cooperative, it is a bit on the pricey side ($195 a roll) but it is printed with traditional nineteenth century techniques so it looks handmade! And it comes in three colors.

Community Forklift

Yesterday I died and went to heaven, at least that's what it felt like. 

I went to a warehouse called The Community Forklift in Edmonston, MD (never heard of Edmonston by the way and I've lived in MD the vast majority of my life.) Community Forklift is a Goodwill for all things home related. People donate home items they no longer want and Community Forklift sells them.

This place had EVERYTHING! Front doors, interior doors, windows, shutters, architectural salvage, sinks, tubs, bricks, granite scraps, door knobs, tools, paint, wallpaper, lumber, lighting, fireplace mantles- I mean EVERYTHING. And the prices were insane! 

I bought these three door knobs for $10 each. Yes that's right I said $10!
