Artwork of the Week: Marilyn Monroe The Last Sitting

Bert Stern photographed Marilyn Monroe in a series he later called The Last Sitting that took place six weeks before she passed away on August 5, 1962. This has always been one of my favorite images of her. Stern took over 2,500 photographs during their 3 day shoot for Vogue magazine and several were published in the September issue the day after the actress was found dead.
Marilyn was 36 when she died.
