Salt & Pepper

Salt and Pepper don't have to be housed in boring, expected containers. Here is an image of the "Pinch" salt cellar and pepper shaker by Craighton Berman. I have this one and I love it!

There are several things I love about this salt and pepper set—for one, it looks like a miniature sculpture on my table, which means I leave it out all the time instead of hiding it once a meal is over. Something else I love about this set is the beauty of the package when it arrived. It arrived in the mail quickly, with packets of salt and pepper to put in the set, accompanied by a gorgeous graphic note from Berman's studio as well as a handwritten thank-you from the artist himself. When the package arrived, the pepper shaker was broken. My husband contacted Berman, who replaced it immediatly. I was so pleased with his customer service, my faith in humanity was restored. This set retails for $39, but is currently sold out. You can view it here

On another note, I was fiddling around on The Future Perfect's website today and I came across this:

So similar to Berman's, but with a few twists. This one retails for $60 and can be purchased here

This all leaves me to ponder: which came first—Berman's or The Future Perfect's?

UPDATE: I have been alerted by the artist of Pinch that it is back and stock. So if you love this little sculpture as much as I do I recommend you purchase it toot suite(!) before it sells out again.

  1. Well it looks like the one at the Future Perfect was deigned in 2011, I originally designed Pinch in 2007.
